When your tummy is 45inches..

You will crave for anything..
From cupcakes.. To gassy drinks.. To chocolates (yes you didn't see wrongly. I crave for chocolates!!).. To chips.. To fast food.. To cakes n tea.. Not to forget ms pinu also crave for food with extreme taste such as mala chili steamboat, chili padi in soya sauce.. And the list goes on!!

Bed n bfast.. No. It's Bed n Supper!

Day 3 of viral fever n chesty cough :(

28 weeks.. And still growing..

2006 Nov. Isa inside my tummy at 30 weeks. 42 inches.

2011 Nov. Ms Pinu inside my tummy at 28 weeks. 44.5 inches.

I went to the gynae jus a couple of days ago and guess what? Ms pinu's weight is already estimated at 1.2-1.3kg!!

Isadore's was only at 1.2kg when I was at my 30 weeks when I was expecting him back then.. No wonder gynae said with Ms pinu's development, she should be a bigger baby if compare to korkor.

Oh no..

and did anyone notice that the "shape" of my tummy looks somewhat different in the two pregnancies? Have you ever heard before that if you are expecting a boy, your tummy will be more "sharp" (aka pointy and you would not even look like your pregnant from your back view) and when you are expecting a girl, your tummy will be more "round" (that should explains my "growing" truck)

what say you?

Someone is graduating soon from Nursery class soon which means he is goin to be in Kindergarten One soon..

I have a very bad feeling I lost Isadore's health booklet since last June, that's when we moved back from Jurong to Sengkang.

And I actually did already gotten the replacement one from KKH but I am still determined to find back the old one. Pls pray for me that I find it cos it's reli a hassle to get back all the old records that are suppose to be on the health booklet.

Emotional draining..

Did not know the impact of ah Lao being away on an overseas exercise due to work can be so emotionally draining. And guess what.. It's only Day 2.. Out of 17.

It's so bad that I had to wake up like 5 times jus to see or confirm that the bed next to mine was empty..
It's so bad that I had to put on a strong front just to come to work..
It's so bad that I had to grit my teeth n tell my son, "it's ok, papa will come back real soon."
It's that bad..

Thank God for dear friends' n family's support.

When we can't afford Tien Hsia yet..

Jus ystday, I did flash cards shuffle games with Isa while I catch up with my 9pm drama!
Hmm.. Sometime ago I was still worried about Isa's ability to recognise for Chinese characters.. But ystday night he proved me wrong! Wahh.. Out of the 50+ flash cards I have, he is able to recognize about half, which is way above my expectations.

Jus some weeks ago, I was still considering of sending Isa for a mandarin enrichment class next year to drill him in his Mandarin cos apparently I realized that his language skills in English is better than his Mandarin ever since we had a helper since last year. I guess I will still send but perhaps in Term 2 of 2012 since we are expecting my lil one to arrive around early Feb 2012. Oh well, u think u r a KS mum? Think again.

By the way, Tien Hsia is an enrichment centre that is quite famous in Singapore for their academic driven results and the youngest age to enter is around 3yo. Their average sch fees is about $350 for one term equivalent to 12 lessons. Expensive or not, you decide.. :)

Kiasu-ism..

Inspirations to write this blog came from my forum friend with his entry titled

"Should We Really Be So Kiasu?" and his came from this original entry.

I reckon this is one of our main concerns esp when we are in a society which focuses so much on academic studies. I will not deny the fact that I am kiasu too. Like many others, I started many activities that involved learning including flashcards and bedtime stories with my son even before he turned one. I guess being a ex-preschool teacher aids my interests to "groom"my son helps. But frankly speaking, I did not remember anything I did with Isadore lasted for more than 6 months as there was ALWAYS something along the way which I thought it would suit him better.

Then when Isa turned 8 months, I moved back with my parents and stayed with them for abt 2 yrs due to my work. I would say I am very blessed as my mom is an enthusiastic grandmother who loves to teach her darling grandson. Thus up till todate, Isadore is a merticulous child who does his work consciously and he ALWAYS has a sharp eye for details.

Anyway after this long journey of teaching and learning and having this wonderful boy, I always remind myself of this:

Academic can wait, but character building cant.

I would say I feel glad esp reading the original post abt "What a four year old should know" as at the end of the day, I am very proud of my Isadore who actually knows and understand these:

1. She should know that she is loved wholly and unconditionally, all of the time. (In other words: LOVE)
2. He should know that he is safe and he should know how to keep himself safe in public, with others, and in varied situations. He should know that he can trust his instincts about people and that he never has to do something that doesn’t feel right, no matter who is asking. He should know his personal rights and that his family will back them up. (In another words: Being sensitive)
3. She should know how to laugh, act silly, be goofy and use her imagination. She should know that it is always okay to paint the sky orange and give cats 6 legs. (In another words: Humour)
4. He should know his own interests and be encouraged to follow them. If he could care less about learning his numbers, his parents should realize he’ll learn them accidentally soon enough and let him immerse himself instead in rocket ships, drawing, dinosaurs or playing in the mud. (In another words: Reflection and self realisation)
5. She should know that the world is magical and that so is she. She should know that she’s wonderful, brilliant, creative, compassionate and marvelous. She should know that it’s just as worthy to spend the day outside making daisy chains, mud pies and fairy houses as it is to practice phonics. Scratch that– way more worthy. (In another words: Intrapersonal skills)

So is your child the same too? :)

Up until now your baby has been measured from crown to rump but from this point on the measurement will be from crown to heel – and this week she is about 26cm long and is steadily gaining weight. A whitish coat of a slick, fatty substance called vernix caseosa begins to cover your baby, protecting her skin during its long immersion in amniotic fluid. It also eases birth. Your baby's swallowing more this week, good practice for her digestive system. After your baby takes in amniotic fluid, her body absorbs the water in the liquid and moves the rest into her large bowel. In her bowel, a sticky by-product of her digestive system, called meconium, accumulates. It'll appear in her first nappy after she's born.

It was the Mid Autumn Festival here in sg on 12 Sept n Isa decided to show off his collection at the playground in the late evening..
Tsk tsk tsk.. I didn't buy them.. ALL were bought by my beloved Dad. He is Gong gong's first ever precious gem. What say u?
Anyway his fav is the pink one.

Isa's speech caught me by surprise today:

1. "I tell Mummy I drink water done!"
2. "Wall sockets and electricity are brothers, fishballs and fishcakes are brothers too!"

So what on earth is inside this lil man's brain?
