SMB's 1st Celebration: Hokkaido Chiffon class with Munch Ministry..

It was for the first anniversary of SMB that some of us decided to meet again. And we were super uber happy with what was being organised by Munch Ministry

Hokkaido Chiffon Cake!

How apt for a celebration.

Here are the beautiful ladies, mummies, pro photographers, bakers (what other roles?).. all rolled into one place.

Get what I mean pro photographers?

Demo time.
Good partners spontaneously working with each other.
Did Pauline and Lousia just make baking look so easy?

I love eggs but simply don't have the skills to separate the yolks and the whites properly so needing help from the professional.

See how pro? :D

"Spin spin spin.."

This is my favourite part. My first time learning how to make meringue.
From egg white to bubbles to soft peak!
Sounds easy but it is not. Any traces of water, oil or yolk will affect the fluffing up of the peak.

And actually if you realize, I don't have many of a photograph cos I was intensely learning and following instructions as Jennifer was helping me taking peektures. :D

My partner, Jennifer. :)
See must pose pose then nice!

So they went into the oven.

175'C, 15-20min.

Freshly out from the oven, our chiffon cake were all puffed out.

Then the puffiness sunk.. miraculously.

See how the colour of the sprinklers match my nails.
It was NOT done on purpose. Serious.

Anyway all done and primly decorated and ready to be packed.

Mum, I know you must be so proud of me.

Homemade vitamin water..

It was a long tired day for me.

Baking class in the morning, rushed home.
Wolfed thru my lunch.
Brought my son to swimming class.
Grocery shopping.
Preparation of dinner.
Preparation work for an upcoming review.
Tucked kids to sleep.

I needed something to cool down. Something that can refresh my mind as I type this post away. Something that is not sweet and will not keep me awake.

Fitness and Health..

Right after my first round of so called "dieting", I was simply jumping over the moon! Cos the total weight that I had shred was about 8kg. so I am already at the "before I had Dora" weight. So after the whole diet regime, I was just maintaining my weight for a whole 3 months. It did fluctuate up and down about 1-2 kg or so but generally all was decent. But technically I am still 8 kg away from the "before I had Isa/pre wedding days" weight and 10kg from my ideal weight. I am not sad nor disappointed in my weight gaining, guess it is all part of the motherhood package. But I guess no moms would want to be satisfied with their new weight (gain), that is.

So after this round, I am close to become greedy now. Greedy for a good reason I say. Well "WANTING" and the yearn to lose weight is still my main focus but this lead me to venture into something more:

 Fitness and Health.

You did not see it wrong. Me, (self proclaim) the laziest person in the world is pledging to everyone who reads my blog that I will look into my fitness and health. Don't mistake me that I will be some exercise guru overnight but rather I am going on a comfortable pace to build my fitness and health. One of the other reason why I am pushing myself to do this is due to the demise of my uncle that happened a couple of weeks ago. Long story cut short: Health is wealth.

Anyway, here is what I did for a start with lower impact exercise: 30 days squat challenge.

But please people, be very careful on how you can attempt this squat. It is really not as easy as what it seems.

Well of course I am not alone. I am embarking on this healthy lifestyle with a few twitter friends of mine. Not mentioning names here though so as to respect their privacy. I really want to thank them for helping me pushing my butt off the chair! (literally)

Come join me on this new pledge of mine! You can follow me twitter @sherbetgal or by searching this hastag #fitness123

And as a part of this Fitness and Health series: I will also blog about food - in term of preparations and nutritional values. So feel free to drop by again.

Mega Bugs Return!

We were very privileged to get an invitation to attend the above event on Friday 19 Apr.

I do apologise for the low grade shots (read: iphone4) taken during the exhibtion. I was alone at the exhibition, had to take care of my super emo son who have had a long day with me since our day started at 7am. But nonethless I am glad he enjoyed the experience with super duper mega bugs.

Anyway let the pictures do the talking.

Taken at the door right before sunset :D

The not so crowded entrance at first.

cute mascot

Then it got very crowded.

Are you ready for the return of the Mega Bugs?

The tunnel of lights that will bring you to somewhere.

super DUPER oversize mosquito. Eeks!

I never ever like praying mantis.

Someone trying to be a stickyfeet insect here.

This specimen section kept the lil man entertained for quite a while. He was so worried that they might fly out from the glass casings. Ho hum lil man, you forgot who is MORE afraid of the small black flying things.

One of the many local celebrities present.
