Many faces..

The recent trends in which mei mei became the model.

Pinu gangnam style.

or Ms Fatty Pirate?

Which do you prefer?

Anyway..
Happy Halloween!

Slither.. is part of crawling.

At exactly 9mths old, pinu stretched her arms and slither!
It may not be a on-fours crawl but it is a very big achievement for her.
Please lower down your speaker volume as it seemed that I was literally shouting into the recording.

Explorer Kids.. 20 Oct 2012

Our first time at Explorer Kids..
Even mei mei get to play!

Halloween mood is not over yet.

Our brave lil man showing us "The Cave". which turns out to be the entry to another play area.

Like I said, even mei mei gets to play!
In the baby ball pool of course.
Then she attempts to jump on the soft cushy foam block.

See how eager looking she is.
Did I mention that she has been awake since 730am in the morning and when I took this picture at 2pm, she was still wide awake!
She finally KO-ed at 215pm.

Kor kor in the deep ball pool
He was happy to literally jump into the pool though there was a sign that read "No Jumping".
Well Isa attempted a few times and nobody came to stop him.
So you could see the vigilance level of the staff.
Then after 20min of jumping and  "walking" in the ball pool, he came out upon my request as I realized the ball pool was getting too crowded for about 10 children.

Isa at the climbing framwork structure. Ok I just realize this picture made him look like he is being trapped inside the structure. :P

At the exit. Ok Isa. You are getting very tall. How can my lovey baby grow so fast?

Anyway peeps, here are my sharing of info.

Price:
Non members: $25 for first hr, $6 subsequent hour
adult $2, NTUC silvercard member $1

Members: one time membership of $15
adult $2, NTUC silvercard member $1
will expire when child turns 12years of age
first hour $15, subsequent hour $4

babies below 2, as along as accompanied with a paid child ticket will get to go in for free

obviously we took the latter package so in the end we only paid abt $38 for a whole hour of fun!

Verdict:
Pro: Clean airy space inside the playareas. There is also a specific area for parents to sit down to rest while the children roam.

Cons: Not that much "things" to play with except for the Adventure Highlands climbing structure. Ball pool for 3 yr and above is too deep and the staff were happily chatting till a girl came crying out of the ball pool. Staff were not vigilant. There is a certain smell emiting from the play area, think it could be sanitiser smell but still..

Overall rating: 7.5/10

Foodie Friday.. Comfort food

Everyone has a comfort item and for me, having good food makes me comfy.
Food that makes me comfy are food that I can eat tons of them and I will never get sick them.
So these are the food that give me my soul the comfort, especially when I am down.

Home baked portobello mushrooms with parmesan and pasta sauce.

Ready to eat in 30min
(including a 20min to soak the mushroom after wash).

Preparation method:
  • After draining the mushrooms, cut off the stem of the mushroom.
  • Place them in a flat surface (say a ceramic plate or even the metal plate from the oven).
  • Sprinkle pasta sauce (your desired amount).
  • Sprinkle parmesan cheese flakes.
  • Bake for 15min at 170-175 deg Celsius.
  • Ready to serve.

Chuwanmushi (or better know as steamed eggs)

Ready to eat in 15minutes

Prepation method:
  • Crack your desired number of eggs*, I did 3 eggs
  • Add 120ml of water and a pack of soup stock**
  • Add condiments such as crab stick or corn bits
  • Put it to steam for 10min
  • Ready to serve

*rule of thumb for eggs and water
for every 1 egg, add 40ml of water.
**I forgot the brand of the soup stock

Did I also say this chawanmushi is Isa's favourite too?

Sherrill mei mei with her pretty outfit and headband.

I know she always give me the look but I adore her to the bits!

my lil man!
How charming his smile is.

Nichole with Isa.
one word: innocence

and us! the mummies gang!
my NE group of BFF. :)

Anyway J signed up a package with Polliwogs for that day.
$129 for 8 sessions.
This includes a $20 food voucher and discounted rate for their play session.
I woud say it is a good catch as the place is cosy and very child friendly. This is my second time here and would love to bring Isa back again.

My typical day..

Here is a sneak pic of my typical weekday.. I shall try to attempt a weekend version.
:)

645am - 7am
My alarm clock rings..  There I try to hit the snooze button till my final call at 7am. I just try to spend another 5minutes in bed with this little cutie pie. She will usually wake up when I am up too. I will pass her to my helper while I showers.

7am
Showers and dress up.

715am
Me whisks off to the kitchen to gulp down my vitamins with water, makes milk for Isadore.

Wakes Isadore with a warm bottle of milk. Oh yes he is still on the bottle. We had made a pact to let him wean it off by his 6th birthday.. Let's see what happens.

While he tries to struggle out of bed to the bathroom, I will get his already-ironed uniform that is hanging in my other bedroom. *thank God for helper*

730am-740am: we make our way out. But not forgetting to give my sweetie pie a high-5 and plants a wet kiss on her! "Bye mei mei.. I see you in the evening!"

740am
The level of our humble flat. Waiting for the lift while shouting out to mei mei the second bye.

Carpark: see my tired young man on a typical Monday.

745am:
Driving while eating breakfast.

For him: a slice of bread with spread. Me: 2 slices of wholemeal bread with egg mayo (menu may differ for everyday). Driving young man to school. I like to let the young man to take his breakfast in the car as 1. He can take his time to eat (a mere 10minutes drive is better than me yelling at him for 10min at home) 2. He can daze while chewing his food. You can see it clearly from this picture.
Anyway I am a breakfast person thus to me it is alright if he cannot finish his slice (on the occasions but normally he would) since he already had 120ml of milk earlier. But this (perhaps crazy) mum think 120ml of milk is simply not sufficient for a growing boy like Isadore! So this extra slice of bread comes in handy.

755am-8am:
At the drop off porch. The school provides an extra service of opening, closing the car doors and shuttling kids off to the gate. This is such a good service as generally if we dont need to park only means we save time as parents! If you notice, there is actually another lane on the left, and this lane is actually reserved for school bus so that cars and buses don't share lanes. Nice arrangement huh?

830am-9am:
Reaches workplace

My lower primary class. Oh I work in a student care, in case you were wondering.

915am:
Checks their work followed by tuition:

12pm:
Sending off the kids to school followed by lunch, online shopping, checking the kids via the camera or perhaps a short snooze if I am really tired.

1pm
Fetches the upper pri kids back from school. They will have their shower follow by lunch.

330pm:
Teabreak

4pm-6pm:
Tuition with the upper pri kiddos. My love and hate affair with them.

6pm:
Home sweet home!!

645pm:
Playground time!
I try to bring the kiddos to the playground till dusk. I try to cultivate this tv-less session at least 2-3 times a week. The other sessions, I would bring the kiddos for a evening after dinner walk at either Punggol Waterway or Punggol Park.

oh mei mei mini me.. you are so adorable!

7pm-8pm:
Dinner time. Ok think I was too hungry for dinner that I forgotten to snap pictures.
Anyway Isadore will be sitting at his kiddo table, plonk right in front of the television while Papa Ray and I will be at the dining table, eating and yaking about our daily stuffs at work.

8pm:
Life after marriage, after kids.
It is play time!

Kor Kor loves to entertain mei mei with the cloth napkin.

830pm
Mei mei will take a power nap while kor kor catch up with my assigned work. Usually it consists of a mere 3-4 pages of writing / matching / colouring activities from random assessement books I bought for him. And the number of pages that he can accomplish depends on his mood.

9pm:
How to sleep when they are grinning from ear to ear?

1030pm-11pm:
Usually by this time, our room will be silent and lights are already dimmed. I will catch up on what I need to. Blogshop purchases, bills to be paid online, blogs entry and such.

Tomorrow will be the same, for 5 days a week.
I simply love my life, what about you?

My post is part of a series of all these wonderful mommies' chronicles. Do hop over to sapot.

By the way, this is my 500th post. :)
